After reading comments about the grading policy, if the grading procedure in this class will in fact follow university policy then a correction is necessary. If the range 80 – 89 covers B-, B, and B+ then that implies a B- (the lowest B available) would receive a 3.0 on the university 0.0 – 4.0 QCA grading scale. In fact the university assigns 2.7 to B-, 3.0 to B, and 3.3 to B+. Working down the scale this implies the assignment of a C- to an average of 70%, based on the 4.0 QCA scale that means a 2.0. The university assigns 1.7 to a C- or vice versa but not 2.0. That’s why students can’t receive an A+. The highest possible grade is A. the university does this intentionally so that receiving an A is hard but at the same time the majority of the students are less likely to fail their classes.
