There are man other formats out there currently on the market. mp4, vqf, wma, asf, and new emerging technology from Lucent and Texas Instrument called enhanced perceptual audio coding, or EPAC for short. All of these formats are much better tha mp3. However, mp3 is VERY popular and has much, if not, much 'cyber-grassroot' support.
