its a little late to discuss such things since we have already had the first exam. if the weighting was different, students might have studied more, and i might have set the exam differently.
besides, changing the distribution among the exams wont help much - what you really need is an increase in weight for the non-exam portion ... and i am reluctant to consider any such ideas, because the non-exam work i assign is potentially much more stressful than the exams :)
the reason the tests are not spread out is that the final exam will be comprehensive, and i want it to count for more than the midterms ...
